1. Scope of the Journal
JMMBS considers manuscripts in the following areas:
- Human movement mechanics and biomechanics
- Clinical movement assessment and injury risk
- Rehabilitation science and return-to-function
- Strength, conditioning, and performance analysis
- Exercise physiology applied to movement outcomes
- Motion capture, force platforms, EMG, and wearable sensors
- Biomechanical modelling and applied AI (methodologically transparent)
2. Article Types
- Original Research Articles
- Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses
- Narrative Reviews with biomechanical synthesis
- Clinical Case Reports and Case Series
- Methods and Technical Reports
- Editorials and Invited Commentaries
3. Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should generally include the following sections:
- Title page — title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author, ORCID (recommended)
- Abstract — structured where appropriate; include key findings and relevance
- Keywords — 3–6 terms
- Introduction — rationale, background, and aims
- Methods — reproducible description of design, participants, equipment, and analysis
- Results — presented clearly with appropriate statistical reporting
- Discussion — interpretation, comparison with literature, and limitations
- Conclusion — concise summary of key findings and implications
- References — consistent format; all claims properly cited
4. Ethical Requirements
- Human studies must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki
- Ethics committee approval must be stated and referenced where applicable
- Informed consent is required for all identifiable participant data
- Conflicts of interest (financial and non-financial) must be disclosed
- Plagiarism, data fabrication, and image manipulation are strictly prohibited
5. Peer-Review Process
JMMBS operates a formal double-anonymous (double-blind) peer review process. All manuscripts undergo editorial screening before external review assignment.
6. Open Access & Copyright
JMMBS is a fully Gold Open Access journal. All articles are immediately and permanently free to read, download, and share — with no embargo period and no reader fees.
Authors retain full copyright of their published work. All articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence.
