  • Clinical / Applied Biomechanics Case Reports (where appropriate and ethically compliant)

§ 3 Files to Upload

  • Manuscript file — DOC/DOCX preferred; PDF acceptable for initial submission where needed.
  • Figures — High-resolution PNG/JPG or vector format (SVG/PDF) where applicable.
  • Tables — Editable tables within the manuscript file; avoid table screenshots.
  • Supplementary material — Datasets, code, appendices, reporting checklists (as applicable).
  • Cover letter — A short statement of novelty, scope fit, and ethics compliance.

§ 4 Manuscript Structure

Unless the article type requires a different structure, use the following order:

  • Title page — title, authors, affiliations, corresponding author email, ORCID (recommended).
  • Abstract — structured where appropriate; include key findings and relevance.
  • Keywords — 3–6 keywords.
  • Main text — Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Limitations, Conclusion.
  • References — consistent format; ensure all claims are properly cited.
Reporting clarity: Methods must enable reproducibility — provide device specifications, sampling rates, model names, and analysis steps where relevant.

§ 5 Data, Code & Transparency

  • Include a Data Availability Statement describing where supporting data can be accessed — repository link, supplemental files, or "available on request".
  • Where analysis scripts or code exist, provide a link to a public repository or upload as supplementary material.
  • Disclose all preprocessing steps, exclusion criteria, and analytical decisions transparently.

§ 6 Ethical Requirements

  • Human studies — require institutional ethics approval (IRB/IEC) or a clear justification where formal approval was not required.
  • Informed consent — must be stated for identifiable participants and any patient-level data.
  • Conflicts of interest — all authors must disclose financial and non-financial conflicts.
  • Funding — list all funding sources and grant numbers (if applicable).

§ 7 Plagiarism & Similarity Screening

All submissions may be screened for similarity and potential plagiarism prior to peer review. Similarity reports are used as a flagging tool and are interpreted in context — they are not applied mechanically.

§ 8 Peer Review

JMMBS operates a formal double-anonymous (double-blind) peer review process. Editorial screening precedes external review assignment.

  • Typical review timeline: 4–8 weeks (may vary by reviewer availability and revision cycles).
  • Possible decisions: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, Reject.
Full policy: Peer Review Process
