§ 1 Commitment to Long-Term Preservation

JMMBS is committed to the permanent availability of its published articles. Digital preservation safeguards scholarly content against data loss, technological obsolescence, and organisational change — ensuring that research remains accessible indefinitely to the global scientific community.

§ 2 Digital Preservation Infrastructure

We employ a multi-layer strategy to ensure global accessibility and data integrity:

  • Crossref DOI Registration — All articles receive a permanent, globally resolvable DOI for persistent identification and citation.
  • Redundant Storage — Content is mirrored across multiple servers with routine automated backups and checksum integrity verification.
  • Distributed Copies — Archival copies are maintained in physical locations across different geographic regions to minimise localised risk.

§ 3 Third-Party Archival Deposit — Zenodo (CERN)

Complete issue-level archival copies are deposited in Zenodo, an open-access research repository operated by CERN under the European Commission's OpenAIRE initiative. Zenodo provides reliable, long-term hosting with versioning support and guaranteed open access.

§ 4 Self-Archiving Policy

Authors are encouraged and permitted to deposit the final published version (Publisher PDF) in institutional repositories, national archives, or subject-based repositories (e.g., PubMed Central, ResearchGate, or institutional repositories) immediately upon publication. No embargo period applies. Attribution to JMMBS and inclusion of the DOI are required.

§ 5 Corrections & Versioning

Any post-publication corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions are documented transparently and linked to the original article record. Earlier versions are retained in the archive with a clear version history, ensuring the scholarly record remains complete and traceable.

§ 6 Policy Review

This policy is reviewed periodically to reflect evolving best practices in digital preservation and open-access archiving. Updates are communicated via the journal website.
